Bulls Abroad: Gold Cup Group B Roundup (Game 3): Kemar Lawrence, Roy Miller & Karl Ouimette

Jamaica, Costa Rica advance; Canada crash out of Gold Cup

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

Jamaica 1 - 0 El Salvador

Kemar Lawrence and the Reggae Boyz won their final group stage game to take the Group B crown and advance to the quarterfinals of the 2015 Gold Cup. Jamaica will face Group A runner-up, Haiti on Saturday July 18th in Baltimore. Lawrence played all 270 minutes of the group stage and will be unavailable for the Red Bulls match against Orlando City SC the same day.

The lone goal of the match was scored by Garath McCleary in the 72nd minute. El Salvador will need to await tomorrow's Group C results to see if they advance.

Canada 0 - 0 Costa Rica

Once again, Canada did not score in a Gold Cup match, extending their scoreless streak to 568 minutes. They are possibly the first team in Gold Cup history (need confirmation of this) to allow only one goal during the entire group stage and not advance to the knockout round. Karl Ouimette played all 90 minutes and had a solid match, keeping Costa Rica off the board. Roy Miller substituted in the 72nd minute for Deyver Vega and did enough to secure advancement of Costa Rica to the next round. Ouimette should be available for the OCSC game Saturday.

Costa Rica await the Group C runner-up, who will be their quarterfinal opponent on Sunday July 19th in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. Miller won't be very far from Red Bull Arena.
