The Premier Development League announced that the 2015 PDL Championship will be hosted by the Seattle Sounders U23s at Starfire Stadium in Seattle, Washington.
The New York Red Bulls U23s, playing their first season in the PDL, advanced to the final four after defeating the Jersey Express in extra time, 2-1, in the Eastern Conference Championship final. Scott Thomsen (Red Bulls Academy/Virginia) and Joe Farrell (FC Delco/La Salle) scored for the Baby Bulls.
In addition to the Sounders U23s and the Red Bulls U23s, K-W United FC and the Ocala Stampede are participating in the four-team national championship. The Red Bulls play Ocala in the national semifinal on Friday, July 31st at 9 p.m. The final is on Sunday, August 2nd at 5 p.m.
The semifinals and final will be streamed on the PDL's official YouTube channel.
The New York Red Bulls U23s -- an amateur team comprised of former Academy players and other recruited college players -- won the NPSL Championship in 2014 before switching leagues during the off-season. They finished first in the Mid Atlantic Division during the regular season with a 9-2-3 record.
