The United States takes on Guatemala tonight in a final Gold Cup tune-up game. The two teams likely will advance to the knockout rounds and it is possible, although not probable, that these two could meet in the knockout rounds.
While this game is a friendly, both teams will be looking to gain momentum before the Gold Cup begins on Tuesday. Its possible the USMNT looks to rest players as they begin their Gold Cup campaign in four days, however it is believed that Jurgen Klinsmann will put out a strong lineup. Guatemala are surely be the underdogs in this match, however a victory against the U.S. would give them great confidence going into the Gold Cup.
If Klinsmann starts a full strength team the Guatemalans could have their hands full. Guatemala will surely look to avoid conceding as many goals against the U.S. as the Dutch did earlier this month. The U.S. is expected to win this game and anything less then a multi-goal victory will likely cause concern. The Guatemalans will look to make life difficult for the USMNT and try to force a close game.
