Last night the MLS All-Stars defeated EPL-side Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Colorado. During halftime, the Fox Sports 1 crew had a rapid fire questioning session with MLS Commissioner Don Garber. One of the questions referred to comments brought up by individuals such as Clint Dempsey and Pablo Mastroeni during Media Day: MLS All-Star Game format. Dempsey and Mastroeni said they would like to go back to East vs. West with the winning conference selected as the host for the MLS Cup Final.
Garber stated:
"We have [considered a format change]. "I think there was a time when we needed to show the world that we could play against them. Now the world is kind of looking at us and wondering how can [they] be a part of it. So doing an East vs. West with all the great players we have probably makes sense, and maybe it’s time for a change. But we’ll go through a process through the year where we’ll try to figure that out."
What do you think?
