The New York Red Bulls drew the Montreal Impact 1-1 mid week, then beat New York City FC 2-0 to close out the weekend and Week 23. They have put themselves in the drivers' seat to gain more ground on D.C. United for the Eastern Conference crown, possibly the Supporters' Shield. In order to keep moving forward, they'll have to get past Toronto FC on Saturday at Red Bull Arena. Toronto's three DP's are going to be very dangerous, but NYCFC also had three DP's that RBNY was able to throw off their game.
I recommend to buy Damien Perrinelle. He was suspended for yellow card accumulation against Montreal, but helped Matt Miazga snuff out David Villa one more time. When Perrinelle, Miazga and Dax McCarty start together, the Red Bulls are 9-0-4. Outstanding... and Invincible... Also, if you haven't bought Kemar Lawrence, what the heck are you waiting for?? His 12 points against NYCFC are the most by an RBNY defenseman in any game this season. He has been a great offseason pickup.
Bag Shaun Wright-Phillips. It's not that is he playing badly. But with the way Lloyd Sam and Mike Grella have been in form, he's not going to get you maximum points since he'll most likely only get 30 minutes of playing time. Also, bag Roy Miller. We thought that Roy would get the job back once returning from Gold Cup duty, but Connor Lade has stepped in well. Lade has appeared in seven of RBNY's last eight games.
