Shaun Wright-Phillips had something close to the perfect debut for the New York Red Bulls: subbing for the last 30 minutes or so of a game his new team seemed destined to lose, creating two goals - one of which fell to his brother - and thereby helping RBNY gain three points from an opponent it has struggled to deal with this season.
His work has not gone unnoticed by the league: mlssoccer.com called him "an instant sparkplug" and stuck on the left side of midfield (where he did indeed play against the Union) in a 3-4-3 lineup for MLS's official Team of Week 22.
Congratulations, SWP!
The league's official TotW also smiled on RBNY's captain, Dax McCarty, who was awarded a spot on the bench.

SWP, McCarty and the rest of the Red Bulls play twice in Week 23: in Montreal, on August 5, and against NYC FC at Red Bull Arena on August 9.
