Santiago Castano and Franklin Castellanos make the bench on USL Team of Week 20

Recognition of a job well done for two NYRB II players this week.

Two heroes of NYRB II's win over St. Louis FC found their way onto the bench of USL's Team of the Week (for Week 20): goalscorer Franklin Castellanos and goalkeeper Santiago Castano.

Castellanos' match-winner was his second goal of the USL season. Castano back-stopped NYRB II to its ninth win of 20 games played so far this year in the league.

NYRB II currently sits fifth in the USL's Eastern Conference, six points above the cut-off for playoff places - but by no means assured a post-season berth yet. The team has eight games remaining in its regular season. Next up, it will travel to play Charlotte Independence at Ramblwood Soccer Stadium on August 5 - kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Independence forward Tomasz Zahorski was named to the USL's Week 20 Team of the Week for his goal-and-assist contribution to Charlotte's win over hitherto undefeated Rochester Rhinos. Charlotte is eight points behind NYRB II in the current standings, but with three games in hand.
