New York Red Bulls will spend the preseason in Florida, and New Jersey

It must be nice to go to sunny Florida.

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

A week ago we learned that the New York Red Bulls would be traveling to Jacksonville for a preseason date against the NASL's Armada. Yesterday, at the MLS SuperDraft, some more information came out about the Red Bulls' preseason plans.

In comments to reporters after the Red Bulls selected Zac Carroll, Ali Curtis confirmed that the team would split time this preseason between Florida and the New Jersey/New York area.

We're going to be in Florida. We'll spend a couple of weeks in Orlando, come back to the New York/New Jersey area, then we'll go back to Florida and spend a little bit more time there, and then we'll come back and we got our home opener on March 6th, and looking forward to playing against Toronto FC.

Curtis also confirmed that the Red Bulls would not be participating in any preseason tournaments, meaning their visit to Orlando won't include any traditional preseason tournaments like the Disney Preseason Classic or the IMG Suncoast Pro Classic.
