2015 NWSL Draft: Sky Blue FC finishes draft by picking goalkeeper Caroline Casey

Sky Blue trades two fourth-round draft picks to move up and select the William & Mary star

Sky Blue finished their 2015 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) college draft by trading away two fourth-round picks to move up to the 29th pick. They used that pick to fill a need as a backup goalkeeper, picking William and Mary shot-stopper Caroline Casey.

Barring more trades, Casey will go into Sky Blue FC camp in a few months as the backup for Brittany Cameron, who was the team's MVP last summer. Cameron played all but eight minutes last summer. Sky Blue FC's backup goalkeeper last year was Aubrey Bledsoe, who was picked by Orlando in the expansion draft.

A four-year starter, Casey played in every match for the Tribe. She made 301 saves in her career with 29 shutouts. She was a first-team All-American her senior year.

In return for the 29th pick, Sky Blue FC gave Chicago the 33rd and 36th picks of the draft.
