After the first two rounds of the MLS Draft last week, Once a Metro reported that the New York Red Bulls were planning on splitting time this preseason between Florida and New Jersey. Today the team announced their plans for the preseason.
The Red Bulls will first assemble this Friday, January 22nd, before departing for Florida on Sunday the 24th. The team will then spend 13 days in Florida before returning to New jersey on February 5th. They will then spend 10 days at the team's facility in East Hanover before heading back down to Florida for for the remainder of February. Below is a list of all pre-season friendlies scheduled. As reported earlier, the Red Bulls will not be taking part in any structured tournament as they have in years past.
January 28th - University of South Florida (scrimmage)
January 31st - Split Squad Day: Jacksonville Armada FC (NASL) & Montverde Academy
February 4th - Montreal Impact (MLS)
February 17th - Orlando City SC (MLS)
February 24th - Philadelphia Union (MLS)
February 27th - Jacksonville Armada FC (NASL)
