Red Bull Rant 204: 2 To Go

For two teams, we’re down to the last two.

Soccer: International Friendly Men's Soccer-New Zealand at USA Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Red Bulls were off this week, but a few players were on international duty, with Sacha Kljestan seeing a lot of playing time with the United States.

Oh, the baby bulls were having an exciting time of things in the USL Playoffs. A few lead changes. A penalty kick in Extra Time to force penalties, and a wild miss to see New York Red Bulls II through into the Semifinals with a chance to make the USL Championship match.

The New York Red Bulls will get back at it on Sunday when they host Columbus Crew SC in the final regular season home match in 2016. A win will set up the team to control their own destiny on decision day, and could secure themselves a first round bye if Toronto FC falters.

Can the Red Bulls extract some revenge on Columbus? Can they clinch #1 in the East? Can they possibly move towards a shield if FC Dallas loses? We’ll see this weekend.
