When the New York Red Bulls II took the field for the USL Eastern Conference final against Louisville City FC, there was a surprising lack of Noah Powder in the lineup.
And on the bench.
Eagle-eyed Eric Friedlander set us straight:
Noah Powder was called up to the Trinidad and Tobago U-20s earlier this month, and should currently be in Panama as part of the team's preparations for the upcoming Caribbean Football Union Men's U-20 Tournament in Curacao. The tournament runs from October 21 to October 30, which means Noah Powder will also miss the USL Cup Final on October 23.
T&T is grouped with Haiti, Cuba, and Saint Lucia in the CFU tournament. The top two teams in the group will qualify for the 2017 CONCACAF Men's U-20 Championship, which is the qualifying tournament for the 2017 Men's U-20 World Cup.
Powder and T&T kick off their CFU competition against Cuba on October 22.
