He's not quite a first-team regular yet, but Matt Miazga's experience at Vitesse does seem to be following a promising trajectory. Not quite as promising as that of fellow Chelsea loanee Lewis Baker, who scored another startling goal this week for the Dutch club.
Vitesse won the match, 2-1, to climb to sixth in the Eredivisie table.
Miazga has been a regular in match-day squads since arriving at Vitesse. He made his league debut for the club last week, also registering his first assist. Against Groningen, he picked up his second appearance in the Dutch top flight, entering the game in the 86th minute as Vitesse successfully closed out the game for the win.
Regular minutes are the primary objective of Miazga's loan to Vitesse, and that starts with regular appearances. He has now played in the club's last three consecutive games (in the league against Twente and Groningen, and in a cup match against De Dijk). So far, so good.
Next up, Vitesse plays AZ on October 15.
