If you are in any doubt about the New York Red Bulls' enthusiasm for their II team, Dan Feuerstein has a story about the club's leadership that should put that to rest.
And Kristian Dyer has a report for MSG Networks that further highlights the extent to which RBNY stands behind NYRB II.
The first team plays Philadelphia Union in Chester, PA, on the afternoon of Sunday, October 16. Kick-off is at 4 pm. Over in Harrison, NJ, NYRB II will kick off the 2016 USL Cup Final against Swope Park Rangers at 8 pm in Red Bull Arena.
Assuming the first team's game finishes around 6 pm, there isn't a lot of time for the players and staff on the trip to get back from Chester to Harrison in time for the match. But they are going to try.
Dyer reports the first team has altered its usual travel arrangements. Instead of using the Red Bull training facility in Hanover as the hub for transporting players and staff to Chester, the team bus will pick up and drop off at Red Bull Arena.
It's smart to budget about two hours for a drive from Chester to Harrison. And the team will have things to do after its game against the Union - shower and chat to the media, mostly - that will keep it from just running off the field and on to the bus. So don't expect to see the first team's NYRB II fans at RBA for the opening whistle of the USL Cup final. But they will be there as quick as they can.
