FS1's Julie Stewart-Binks has found someone at the New York Red Bulls to talk about the rumor mill's insistence that the club (and LA Galaxy and NYCFC) really wants to prise Sami Khedira away from Juventus.
The rumor had seemed far-fetched, at best. Not least because Khedira is reportedly under contract at Juve until 2019, and contributing regularly and significantly to a successful starting lineup in both Serie A and UEFA Champions League. And RBNY hasn't been in the market for a star-player signing like Khedira for a couple of seasons now.
Even The Sun found the rumor difficult to believe. So this wasn't necessarily a story RBNY needed to deny, but it is one less scarcely-credible piece of transfer gossip for the club to worry about:
