RBNY's young midfielder popped up unexpectedly in the U-19 MNT's last training camp of 2016.

The New York Red Bulls were still involved in the MLS playoffs when Brad Friedel named his final US U-19 Men's National Team squad of 2016, but the 17-year-old RBNY midfielder would seem to have been a late addition to the group once it was clear his club no longer had any soccer to play for the year.

Per the official US Soccer website, the U-19 MNT played a friendly against a Miami FC selection on November 13. Adams played the full 90 minutes, scoring the second goal of a 5-0 rout for the U-19s.

The U-19 team is effectively a way of expanding the youth national team player pool, creating additional opportunities for training and development at the national level for players who might not yet be in the frame for the U-20s and have aged out of the U-17s (both of which age groups have World Cups on their schedule).

Adams unexpected inclusion in the latest U-19 camp confirms he remains on the radar of the US Youth National Teams set-up.
