Anatole Abang starts, but Hobro falls to Nykobing

Can't win 'em all.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Anatole Abang had time for one more game with Hobro IK before reporting for international duty with Cameroon, but it did not provide the send-off for which he might have hoped.

At home against slumping Nykobing, the Danish First Division leader struggled to impose itself in "rain and sleet...wind and bitter cold" (per the official match report).

Abang got another start, but Hobro conceded a goal in the second half, and the New York Red Bulls' on-loan forward was subbed out shortly thereafter.

(Former RBNY draft pick) Babajide Ogunbiyi had a late equalizer ruled out. Hobro fell to its first loss since mid-September.

Still, Abang leaves his club in good shape. Despite the 1-0 loss, the team remains top of the First Division. Its next match is a challenging trip to HB Koge on November 14, for which Abang might not be available (Cameroon plays Zambia on November 12).
