On Monday, Feb. 8, Sky Blue FC announced its broadcast team for the 2016 season and also renewed with its broadcast production partner, NJ Discover.
Corey Cohen and Dan Lauletta will be covering the play by play for the games.
This will be Cohen's first season with Sky Blue FC, but the University of Pittsburgh graduate has called play-by-play action for football, soccer, basketball and baseball, as well as nearly 15 other sports.
The Philadelphia native has been on the mic at the college level at locations such as the University of Pennsylvania, University of Delaware, Lehigh University, Haverford College, Franklin & Marshall College and at ESPN Williamsport across multiple platforms. He hosted and produced a weekly talk show on 92.1 WPTS Pittsburgh and has done work with Unscripted: The Cardiac Hill Podcast. In addition, he has been featured on ESPNU and done work for a variety of radio stations in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
In a statement, Cohen said, "I am incredibly excited to join the Sky Blue FC organization as the play-by-play broadcaster. Soccer has been a big part of my life since childhood, and it has been exciting to see the women's game grow in our area. I look forward to bringing the fans access to what I am sure will be a thrilling season."
Dan Lauletta will be returning to the booth again this year. The New York native has worked with Sky Blue FC for the past three years. He has been extensively involved in the game of women's soccer since the days of the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA). He currently serves as a lead contributor for Equalizer Soccer. As a top analyst of the game, Lauletta brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to not only the NWSL, but also to the Sky Blue FC broadcasts.
Lauletta has nothing but positive things to say about the team.
"Working on the Sky Blue FC broadcasts the last two seasons has been a privilege and more fun than I could have imagined. I am thankful to the club for the opportunity to return for the 2016 season and look forward to bigger and better things on the webcast this season," Lauletta said.
Also returning in 2016 is Sky Blue FC's broadcast partner, NJ Discover, for their second year with the club. NJ Discover was founded in 2008 to focus on businesses and events around New Jersey. Discover has produced programs for a wide variety of industries, and it's staff has filmed for major national and cable television networks including NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, CNN and the History Channel.
"The NJ Discover staff is honored to be part of the Sky Blue FC family and to be the live production team for their home game broadcasts," Executive Producer of NJ Discover Curt Ciumei said. "We are looking forward to another successful season. Go Sky Blue FC!"
Sky Blue FC games are all broadcast live in HD on YouTube.
