The New York Red Bulls are scheduled to take on the Montreal Impact on Feb. 4 as part of 2016 preseason preparations.
Ahead of the clash, Montreal Impact media apparently attempted to speak to Felipe Martins, but the player was not made available. It is understandable that Montreal media would want to speak to Felipe as he played there for three seasons before being acquired by the Red Bulls.
Nicolas Martineau, a reporter for TVA Sports in Montreal, speculated in a now deleted tweet that Martins not being available could have to do with him leaving the squad imminently.
The Red Bulls were quick to denounce the speculation:
Time to stop this crazy rumor. https://t.co/ncIbe1yF2u

When asked by Once a Metro for clarification on why Felipe was not made available to the Montreal media, a spokesperson for the team defended the decision.
Felipe Martins started 34 games for the New York Red Bulls in 2015, the only player besides Luis Robles to do so.
