Bulls Abroad: Ouimette called to CanMNT for Mexico World Cup Qualifiers

Ouimette one of four MLS players called to Canada

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

New York Red Bulls center back, Karl Ouimette, was called to the Canada men's national team 23-man roster on Friday afternoon.  Ouimette currently has 14 caps with the senior team.  Canada has a very important home-and-away tie with Mexico for round four of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying on Friday March 25th and Tuesday March 29th.  Ouimette is one of four MLS players and three NASL players to be called to the team.

Canada made their first and only World Cup appearance in 1986.  This is the 30th anniversary of that team, so they would really like to make a trip back.  They host Mexico in Vancouver on the 25th, then travel to the Azteca on the 29th.  If Canada can win one of these two games, they essentially qualify for the Hex, starting in November.

Earlier in the week, it was announced that Anatole Abang was called to Cameroon, making the Bulls Abroad tally at two this FIFA window.
