Buy 'Em or Bag 'Em Week 1: A New Season. Not Many New Faces

Roster change deadline: Sunday March 6, 1:30pm ET

Amount of Free Transfers this week: UNLIMITED

Welcome to the 2016 MLS season!  There are some new MLS Fantasy rules, so make sure you read up before you start selecting your team.  The changes favor good individual defense and aggressive offensive players.  It may affect the way you pick your team.

The season kicks off on Sunday March 6th at 1:30pm with the best teams in action.  Your New York Red Bulls host Toronto FC.  A very tough match up for both sides.  You have a Red Bull team that only lost one starter from their 2015 Supporter's Shield team (two if you consider injuries), facing off against a Toronto team that has reigning MVP Sebastian Giovinco and household national team staples: Michael Bradley and Will Johnson.  Jozy Altidore (and Gonzalo Veron) are injured and will not be available for 3-4 weeks.

I recommend to buy the Red Bulls stalwarts from last season.  You can't go wrong with any of these guys: Bradley Wright-Phillips, Sacha Kljestan, Dax McCarty or Felipe Martins.  Mike Grella could be a good selection as well.  Preseason sensation Veron is injured, so he'll get good minutes and plenty of chances for at least a couple of weeks.

Even though he's played every minute since 2013, I would not choose Luis Robles for my team this week.  Toronto has some tough players that will test him.  Also, the Red Bulls sold off Matt Miazga in the off season AND Damien Perrinelle is injured through April/May, so the core of the defense will be different for the foreseeable future.  It will take players like Gideon Baah, Ronald Zubar and possibly Karl Ouimette a few weeks to build chemistry.
