Major League Soccer was born 20 years ago. The founding club owned by Metromedia was named NY/NJ MetroStars and played in Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands.
As the players began to warm up for tonight's match against Orlando City, each player wore a MetroStars jersey. They ranged from the early days to the ones that had a change in the shield in the 2002 season when Bob Bradley came to the club. When the players wore these old time shirts for warm up, it brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye as the old days came back to me.
Happy Birthday Metro/RBNY
