The United States Men's National Team commences its 2016 Copa America preparations with a friendly against Puerto Rico.
The USMNT will be considered heavy favorites against the 152nd ranked Puerto Rican team, but will be missing several regulars as all MLS players and a few European based players are unavailable for this game.
The U.S. players may be lacking chemistry and likely won't be playing at 100% intensity, as this match is rather meaningless.
The USMNT 2016 Copa America roster will be announced by Friday, so there won't be roster spots to play for during this game. Additionally, players may be exhausted after grueling European club seasons.
With the U.S. playing three matches in the two weeks following this friendly, look for Klinsmann to give young players such as Emerson Hyndman and Julian Green significant playing time.
The USMNT should easily defeat Puerto Rico and begin to build confidence as it gets ready for the Copa America.
