Bradley Wright-Phillips reaches 50 career MLS regular-season goals

Only two other players have done that for RBNY (or MetroStars).

William Hauser-USA TODAY Sports

On May 21, 2016, the New York Red Bulls scored a lot of goals against NYCFC. Among those seven (7) goals were two from Bradley Wright-Phillips, the Red Bulls' top scorer for the last two seasons and one of the club's top scorers of all time.

The two goals against NYCFC brought BWP a couple of steps closer to Juan Pablo Angel's all-time, all-competitions RBNY scoring record - but he's still six goals short of that mark, so this is not the time to talk about such things.

What is a fact that cannot be disputed is BWP has just scored the 55th and 56th goals of his RBNY career, consolidating his position as the club's second-highest scorer of all time. And those goals also brought BWP to a landmark achievement in MLS: they were the 49th and 50th regular-season strikes of his career in the league.

The 50th was particularly memorable:

BWP is just the third player in the history of RBNY (or MetroStars) to tally 50 league goals for the club.

Congrats, Bradley!
