Dax McCarty makes 150th MLS regular season start for New York Red Bulls

And he is just the second player in RBNY history to do so.

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The 3-0 home win over Toronto FC on May 28, 2016, was Dax McCarty's 180th appearance for the New York Red Bulls. He is just the second player to reach that milestone in the club's history (regardless of the name it was operating under) - just as he was the second player in RBNY history to cross 14,000 competitive minutes for the first team...and 15,000 minutes...and he is the second player to reach 170 starts in all competitions for the club.

The TFC game also saw McCarty log his 150th MLS regular-season start for RBNY - and he's the second player to do that for the team also.

McCarty is second in all these categories (and a few more) to the club's all-time, all-competitions appearances leader, Mike Petke. But the gap between their records is closing. The next time we find ourselves talking about a McCarty RBNY appearance milestone, it will probably be in the context of a new club record.

Until then, congrats to the captain!
