The New York Red Bulls have been doing quite well on the sponsorship and marketing fronts and announced another business partnership while its players were preparing for the club's US Open Cup game in Rochester.
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield New Jersey ("Horizon BCBSNJ") is now the Official Health Insurance Partner of the Red Bulls.
Horizon BCBSNJ is based in Newark and is New Jersey's largest, as well as oldest health insurer. Horizon is a not-for-profit health service corporation that serves over 3.8 million members.
The Red Bulls and Horizon have previously partnered for events such as the Covenant House Sleep-Out and Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of NJ Expo, both of which were held at Red Bull Arena.
This new partnership allows Horizon BCBSNJ members to receive discounts on tickets for homes matches throughout the season.
Additionally, Horizon will become part of the Red Bull Arena game day experience through its Healthy Zone, Healthy Goal Concession Stand, and the Upper 90 Challenge.
The Healthy Zone will offer health screenings and information about Horizon BCBSNJ. The Healthy Goal Concession Stand will provide healthy food choices such as salads, sandwiches, and grilled chicken. Fans will be able to win prizes by kicking balls into a goal at the Upper 90 Challenge.
Horizon BCBSNJ members will have the opportunity to attend Red Bulls festival events and two Youth Soccer Festivals during the season. Horizon will be the exclusive game sponsor for the Red Bulls home match on October 16th against Columbus Crew. Horizon will use this match to educate, as well as raise fan awareness about breast cancer.
Christopher M. Lepre, Senior Vice President, Market Business Units for Horizon BCBSNJ and Marc de Grandpre, General Manager, New York Red Bulls both emphasized this relationship's focus on community.
Speaking about the partnership De Grandpre said "Both partners plan on using our collective reach and assets to enable our neighbors throughout the entire Garden State to live healthy and productive lifestyles."
