The New York Red Bulls are in the midst of a summer schedule that is going to bring them a game every three or four days until July 17. Squad rotation is necessary, and has already begun.
Ronald Zubar took a knock at the weekend against Seattle Sounders, and RBNY head coach Jesse Marsch suggested the center back might not have played this game anyway. Mike Grella just welcomed a daughter to his family, so it might be a good time to let him have a day or two off.

Sacha Kljestan managed to get off the field early against Seattle, which suggests perhaps Marsch had one eye on keeping his set-piece-taker-in-chief fresh for the trip to Utah. At some point, core members of the starting lineup - Dax McCarty, Felipe, Bradley Wright-Phillips, and Kljestan - will need to be allowed a rest. But perhaps not now. This column is guessing another shuffle of the center backs and Gonzalo Veron stepping in for Grella will be the major adjustments for a tough game against an in-form opponent.
