In an interview with Uruguayan radio station Sport 890, Diego Forlan shared his thoughts on football in his home country, and shed some light on the current state of his plans for the next chapter of his career.
Currently a free agent, the rumor mill has insisted Forlan is not short of offers. He says the same, though some the options it has been suggested he might be considering are not - per Forlan - on the table.
A possible move to Independiente, currently managed by friend Gabriel Milito? No, says Forlan. And he also reportedly quashed the rumor that he there is a job in MLS available to him.
"No miro a Argentina como una posibilidad para ir a jugar", Diego Forlán en Último al Arco. "No recibí ofertas de la MSL"

We too thought that New York Red Bulls rumor was weird, Diego.
Forlan's father, Pablo, has said there is an offer from the USA in the mix - but there are clubs in America outside MLS. Perhaps free-spending Miami FC has been in touch.
Meanwhile, Indian Super League's Atletico Kolkata - confirmed as a bidder for Forlan's services by his brother - is stoically deflecting inquiries about the possibility of a Uruguayan star taking the club's marquee player spot for the coming season. As reported by The Indian Express, the club's position is simply that it will announce its big-name signing for its upcoming ISL campaign before the deadline set for such announcements. That deadline is August 28.
