New York Red Bulls Academy prospect Chris Gloster continues to find favor with USA U-17 Men's National Team head coach John Hackworth.
This U-17 cohort will context next year's CONCACAF U-17 Championship in Panama, with the hope of qualifying for the 2017 U-17 World Cup in India. As such, this year is mostly about Hackworth exploring the player pool and developing a squad capable of finding success in 2017.
RBNY's Gloster - a defender - has been a consistent presence in Hackworth's plans so far this year. He was named to the 32-player U-17 Residency Program in January. He was named to the 23-player squad that went to India in May for the AIFF Youth Cup. And now he has been named to the 24-player roster invited to the U-17's August training camp; itself a prelude to the 2016 Torneo Naciones de Mexico, to be held in Mexico City in the last week of this month.
Hackworth's roster for the August camp also includes in-form Timothy Weah: son of Liberian legend George, briefly a member of the RBNY Academy, and currently with Paris Saint-Germain.
