For the second time in their two-year history, the New York Red Bulls II will be in the USL post-season.

The RBNY reserves clinched a playoff berth with a 1-0 win over Louisville City FC, their closest rival at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Three points bumped the II team up to 50 points from 23 played in USL this season, guaranteeing the squad a top-eight finish in its Conference.

NYRB II still has seven regular season games to play, two of which will be played in the coming week. The team leads USL on points (50), goal difference (+27), and goals scored (45). It has the joint-second best defense in the league: 18 goals conceded; tied with Richmond Kickers and Colorado Springs Switchbacks, and second to OKC Energy FC (14).

Next up for NYRB II is a road game against Toronto FC II on Wednesday, August 24.
