Report: Trialists gone, might be back

David Spies and Gege Soriola are gone (from RBNY), but not forgotten.

Kristian Dyer reports for Big Apple Soccer that the New York Red Bulls' most recent trialist, David Spies, has left the camp. For now.

Dyer quotes RBNY head coach describing the team's plans as "in flux" and saying Spies has been sent away "for a week". During Spies' time with the club, Anatole Abang was loaned out to Hobro IK in Denmark. Perhaps that event plays some part in the "flux" the front office is addressing.

Further, the BAS scoop machine unearths comment on former trialist Gege Soriola. The Nigerian defender is apparently also still on RBNY's radar: "we're looking at the possibility of him coming in at the offseason," Marsch told BAS.

The Red Bulls' leadership like to say they are "always looking" at new player options, and the evidence of Ali Curtis' tenure at the club to date suggests these players won't be the last trialists appearing in camp. There are two rosters to be built for next season.
