Deadline day hope for Matt Miazga: Marcos Alonso joins Chelsea, David Luiz seems likely to sign with Blues

Here come the defensive reinforcements we were told needed to arrive at Chelsea for Matt Miazga to be able to take a season-long loan to a club more likely to to let him play.

The arrival of a left back probably isn't sufficient for Miazga to be allowed out to play, but if David Luiz lands at Chelsea, the American will surely be surplus to requirements Stamford Bridge.

And David Luiz is now expected to land at Chelsea.
