Anatole Abang got his second start for Hobro IK in the club's September 18 game against Fremad Amager. Last week, Abang's debut in the Danish First Division ended with a win for his team, though he did not contribute directly to the scoring. This week, he got his side off to a good start with his first goal for Hobro:

Abang's stated hopes for his season-long loan from New York Red Bulls is to help his new team and score as many goals as he can, so his first goal is an important step toward fulfilling those twinned ambitions.
He almost got himself a second a little later in the first half, hitting the woodwork with a shot.

The rest of the game didn't go quite so well. Fremad Amager came out in the second half and asserted home advantage.

The 4-1 loss was a step back for Hobro, for whom a five-game unbeaten streak in the league is snapped. But the game was a step forward for Abang, for a whom a first goal and a first full 90 minutes for his new club in just his second appearance is an encouraging sign of progress.
Hobro next plays on September 25, at home against HB Koge.
