Rumor: Leonel Vangioni on Sevilla's list of January transfer targets

Perhaps he is not destined to join RBNY.

The story that Leonel Vangioni is on the New York Red Bulls' January wish-list is lightweight even by the standards of the rumor mill. As Once A Metro understands it, a fan of RBNY heard some chat linking the player to a move to the club on the radio in Argentina, dashed off a Tweet in search of some more information, and became the oft-cited source of a transfer rumor.

Vangioni can't get on the field for current club AC Milan, so he surely needs a new team, but there isn't much reason to believe that team will be RBNY.

And the rumor mill has moved swiftly on to a new target club for Vangioni. Scarcely a week after the RBNY story reared up and briefly overwhelmed rumors linking the player to Marseille and Sporting CP, the latest suggestion is he has been identified as a solution to Sevilla's need for left-sided reinforcements.

Multiple outlets carry much the same news: Jorge Sampaoli would like to add depth to his squad's options on the left flank, and Vangioni potentially fits the bill (not least because La Gazzetta dello Sport reports he is one of a group of players Milan wants to offload to free up some budget).
