Sky Blue defender, Erica Skroski, was selected to the 30-player United States Under-23 women’s national team camp that will run from January 6-13 at the U.S. Soccer Training Center in Carson, California.

Skroski was drafted by Sky Blue in 2016 and made an immediate impact for the team. This past season she was the only player, along with Christie Rampone, to start in all 20 games where she tallied one goal. Skroski is also only one of four players called into camp who currently play in the NWSL.

This U-23 WNT call up will be the second time the defender was selected in the past year. Skroski was also a member of the U.S. Under 23 team last March that competed in the Istria Cup in Croatia. During the tournament Skroski played in all three games, starting two of the games. The U.S. U-23 WNT went on to win the Istria Cup with two wins and a tie during their campaign.

While there will be no games during the January camp, the players will be evaluated by coaches including the U.S. women’s national team head coach, Jill Ellis. The full USWNT will be in camp from January 12-23. Skroski’s Sky Blue teammate, Kelley O’Hara, was selected to take part in.
