Venezuelan teenager Cristian Casseres Jr, who had been reported as a Red Bulls target back in November, appears to be taking his talents to Harrison in 2018. According to SOLOVENEX, the Venezuelan U-17 starter will join the Red Bulls on a free transfer in January.

Whether or not Casseres would join the Red Bulls first team, or spend the year with NYRBII as the last teenager the team signed in the winter - Hassan Ndam - remains unknown.

Alexandru Ionita, a Romanian No. 10 who the Red Bulls were reportedly pursuing earlier this month, appears to be staying in Romania, but transferring to a different Liga I club. According to the Romanian outlet Fanatik, Astra president Dani Coman is waiting on offers from CFR Cluj and CSU Craiova

The Red Bulls had supposedly submitted a bid worth $1.7 million to Astra for the 22-year-old Ionita.

The 2017 MLS Waiver Draft came and went this past Wednesday with the Red Bulls passing on their selection.

Only two selections were made: D Kip Colvey to the Colorado Rapids and GK Clement Diop to the Montreal Impact.

Former Red Bulls superstar and New York Cosmos manager Giovanni Savarese has been tabbed as the new manager of the Portland Timbers.

In a report from ESPN FC, however, it was revealed that the Timbers requested permission to speak to Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch, but were denied by the club brass.
