The New York Red Bulls who won the Eastern Conference regular season in 2016 earned the right to play in the 2018 edition.
Down in Miami the Confederation of North America, Central America & Caribbean (CONCACAF) Drew the 16 teams in two pots of eight to see who will face whom in the Round of 16.
For the New York Red Bulls they were placed in the 3rd match up as they were drawn with Honduran side Olimpia.
"The New York Red Bulls are proud to represent Major League Soccer in the CONCACAF Champions League once again and we look forward to an exciting and competitive series against Club Deportivo Olimpia," Said Red Bulls Sporting Director Denis Hamlett.
"I know Jesse (Marsch) and our staff will have our team ready to compete, and we know our fans will be ready For the home leg at Red Bull Arena."
This will be the 4th time that the Red Bulls have been apart of the CONCACAF Champions League as they lost in two legs to Trinidadian side WConnection during the qualifying round back in 2009.
Crashed out in the Group Stage against CD FAS & the Montreal Impact in the 2014 season, won their group in 2016 and lost in the Quarterfinals this past February against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Towards the back end of February these two sides will clash with the first leg down in Honduras and the return leg at Red Bull Arena, but make no mistake about the opponent, Olimpia will be very dangerous at home and the Red Bulls will truly need a result in the 1st leg to take the advantage back to Harrison.
