RBNY transfer rumors: Alejandro Romero deal blocked; “Final touches” on Kljestan-to-Orlando deal, no Silva

It wouldn’t be a Red Bulls transfer without some Red Bull****.

Despite confirmation from multiple sources - including the club itself - that a deal for Huracan attacker Alejandro Romero Gamarra was completed with only personal terms left to agree on, it looks like an outside source has emerged to block the deal.

Reports out of Argentina have indicated that Alejandro Romero’s former agent has demanded a massive commission for the sale of the Huracan attacker - which has in turn blocked the transfer.

The matter is out of the Red Bulls hands, so they may be forced to sit and wait until it gets resolved - which could take anywhere from days to months depending on how long the two sides intend to fight over this.

According to a Tweet by MLS reporter Jeff Rueter, the Red Bulls and Orlando City SC are “putting the final touches” on a deal that would send Sacha Kljestan to the Lions - but the deal will apparently not include 19-year-old winger Pierre da Silva coming to Harrison.

The Red Bulls received $400,000 in General Allocation Money from Chicago back in January for Dax McCarty, so reasonable to assume that the team will get significantly more allocation money for Kljestan.
