Bulls Abroad: Trinidad and Tobago ties Bermuda, 1-1, to open CONCACAF U-20 Championship

Honors even for T&T and Bermuda in the re-match of the CFU U-20 Championship's third-place playoff.

Neither Trinidad and Tobago nor Bermuda will be entirely happy with kicking off their CONCACAF U-20 Championshipcampaigns with a draw. Conventional wisdom suggests a team needs to win at least one of its group stage games to clinch a top-two spot in its group and advance to the next round of the tournament. Both T&T and Bermuda would have regarded this game - the one against a fellow Caribbean team - as the most winnable of its group stage fixtures; both T&T and Bermuda will mourn two points lost.

But the loss of two points will perhaps hurt the Soca Warriors a little more. T&T scored first and had chances to score second too. Instead, Bermuda was allowed back into the match thanks to a miscalculation in the 69th minute that saw what had seemed an easily-cleared long ball hustled into the net.

"It was the Bermuda's only shot on target for the game," noted an unimpressed Wired868.

New York Red Bulls Academy product Noah Powder played the full 90 minutes, unleashing a memorable shot from distance that tested the 'keeper early in the second half.

Next up for Powder and T&T: host nation Costa Rica on Wednesday, February 22.
