The New York Red Bulls have announced that their preseason game against Sacramento Republic has been cancelled. Weather conditions in Sacramento have, unfortunately, made the Republic's field a less attractive playing surface than it should be.
The weather has made the pitch extremely wet and deemed unsafe for play. Fans who purchased tix to the match will recieve an email shortly. pic.twitter.com/PMlO92Yr9Q

The Red Bulls have little choice but to quickly adjust their plans. The team has cut Sacramento out of its travel plans and will head straight to Arizona for a Desert Diamond Cup tournament that starts with a game against NYCFC on February 15.
As RBNY got ready to leave Arizona for the first time this preseason, head coach Jesse Marsch reminded his first-teamers they had "two games left" to work out their off-season kinks before the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals arrive on February 22.
Now there is one game left. With the Sacramento game cancelled, it is expected that RBNY's CCL squad will play NYCFC on February 15, and then return home to prepare for Vancouver Whitecaps' visit to Red Bull Arena. The remainder of Desert Diamond Cup will be played by RBNY's reserves and trialists.
