So now comes the big moment for the New York Red Bulls and the rest of the field in the four regions to find out who will face whom in the Round of 16/Round 5 Proper of the 2017 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.
The sixteen sides that will learn their fate have already been placed in four regional brackets from the fifth round all the way to the Semi-Finals and then another draw will see who hosts the Semis and in what position from one thru four will host or be the permanent road team in the US Open Cup Final.
The East Regional teams are: DC United, New England, NY Red Bulls, Philadelphia
The South Region teams: Atlanta, Chicago, FC Cincinnati, Miami FC
The Central Region teams: Colorado, FC Dallas, Houston, Sporting Kansas City
The West Region Teams: Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Jose, Seattle
US Soccer will get out sixteen envelopes, four per region to place them in positions one thru four and to see who will host or travel on the road to face their opponents in the next rounds of the US Open Cup.
The fifth round proper will be played on Wednesday, June 28th and we shall see if the Red Bulls will host that match at Red Bull Arena. Step one has been achieved so step two is next in Round five.
