The United States Men's National Team will be making a trip to Red Bull Arena later this year for what will be a crucial re-match in 2018 World Cup qualifying.

On Thursday the U.S. Soccer Federation announced that Red Bull Arena would host the September 1st World Cup Qualifying Match between the USMNT and Costa Rica.

USMNT head coach and former Red Bulls/MetroStars head coach Bruce Arena gave high praise to the venue.

"This is going to be a critical game for us against one of the toughest opponents in CONCACAF," Arena said. "Red Bull Arena is among the finest soccer facilities in the country, and we look forward to having outstanding support."

Red Bull Arena last hosted the USMNT for a friendly against - ironically enough - Costa Rica in 2015. However, the venue has never hosted the Stars & Stripes in any major tournament.

The last time the USMNT faced Costa Rica, they were embarrassed in a 4-0 loss that resulted in the firing of former head coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
