Join me this Tuesday evening for a special Pre-game Show as Nick Seuberling of Cincinnati Soccer Talk and Matt Reed of NBC Sports Soccer join me to preview the 2nd Semi-Final of the 2017 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.

What an incredible run these two sides have gone thru to get this far in this edition of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. FC Cincinnati will have over 35,000 plus at Nippert Stadium as the home side will have a sold out crowd.

Not only defeating defending NPSL Champions AFC Cleveland in the second round, their USL rivals Louisville City in the third round, but MLS sides in their in state rivals Columbus Crew and a fantastic 5th round match against the Chicago Fire that forced them to go into extra time and a penalty shootout to advance to the Quarterfinals.

A make up date after a horrible rain storm to postponed the original date for the Quarterfinals in Miami and when they made it up, FC Cincinnati squeaked through with a big goal from Djiby Fall who will miss this semi-final on yellow card accumulation.

But the New York Red Bulls had to go through to the Semi-Finals in their own way by facing three MLS Eastern Conference Opponents in League and US Open Cup Play by defeating NYCFC in the 4th Round, a one all draw with the Philadelphia Union till a penalty kick shootout was decided this time in favor of the Red Bulls.

Then a late winner in the second half as Bradley Wright-Phillips found a way to poke home a big goal against a ten men New England Revolution side to get to the Semi-Finals.

Both sides went through an unorthodox way to meet in the Semi-Finals and the winner of this Semi-Final will punch their tickets to Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas to face Sporting KC for the right to win the US Open Cup.

This should be an exciting match up and hope everyone will enjoy watching this special Semi-Final as the last lower level side standing from USL in FC Cincinnati will host the New York Red Bulls.
