RBNY news & rumors: CB Kevin Politz signs Homegrown Player contract; chasing Yeferson Quintana

Hours after acquiring Carlos Rivas and Tommy Redding from Orlando City SC, the Red Bulls have added another young player to their ranks in the form of Wake Forest CB Kevin Politz.

The team announced on Wednesday afternoon that Politz had joined the team, inking a Homegrown Contract to make him the team’s 18th Homegrown Player.

Politz has played for the RBNY academy and New York Red Bulls U-23 team in the PDL.

Per MLSSoccer.com, several outlets out of Uruguay are reporting that Penarol CB Yeferson Quintana is seeking a move to MLS, with the New York Red Bulls making an offer for the 21-year-old defender.

Quintana made 22 appearances for Penarol last season, scoring three goals and helping the team claim the Uruguay Primera Division title.
