On November 1, Haiti named a 24-man preliminary squad for its forthcoming men’s national team game against Nicaragua. Per Haiti-Tempo, that squad has now been trimmed to 20 players, and the New York Red Bulls Derrick Etienne remains part of the selection.

Haiti will pay Nicaragua in Nicaragua on November 17 in the third round of 2019-20 CONCACAF Nations League Qualifying, a tournament that is also the qualifying competition for the 2019 Gold Cup. The Haitian Football Federation has since announced that the men’s national team will extend its stay in Central America to play a friendly against El Salvador in El Salvador on November 20.

RBNY’s Etienne has picked up seven caps and scored two goals for Haiti since making his national team debut in November 2016. He’ll look to extend that tally this month, as Haiti seeks to secure a place in the top tier of next year’s CONCACAF Nations League and a berth at the 2019 Gold Cup.
