As reported by the Dominican press since the day the draw for round of 16 of the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League was completed, Atletico Pantoja will host its opening game of the tournament - against the New York Red Bulls - at Estadio Cibao in Santiago, Dominican Republic. But initial reporting of the scheduled dates was a little off, so perhaps the long-held view that the match would not be played in Santo Domingo was similarly mistaken.
Not so much, the original reports are confirmed by Atletico Pantoja’s official website. And Facebook. And Twitter. The first leg of RBNY’s round of 16 CCL 2019 series with the reigning Caribbean club champion will be played in Santiago de los Caballeros at Estadio Cibao.
