The Venezuela Football Federation, FVF, has clarified arrangements for the ongoing men’s U-20 team camp, thereby clarifying what Cristian Casseres will be doing for most of his winter break.
The U-20s are preparing for the 2019 South American men’s U-20 Championship, which kicks off in Chile in January. There are 20 players in camp currently, with another 12 set to arrive in due course. Among the later arrivals will be Casseres. The New York Red Bulls midfielder is expected to join the team on December 9, per FVF’s report.
The first phase of the training camp will run until December 13 at Venezuela’s National Center for High Performance. The team will then move to Caracas to continue training until December 22. After a break for Christmas, the players will reconvene in Puerto Cabello from December 26 to 29. A break for New Year’s festivities will follow, and then the team will commence an “international tour” on January 3.
Venezuela kicks off the 2019 South American men’s U-20 Championship on January 17 against Colombia.
