The New York Red Bulls aren’t the only Red Bull GmbH soccer outfit making a historically deep run in their continental tournament. RBNY’s sister clubs in UEFA - RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg - both made it into the Europa League Quarter-Finals for the first time in their respective histories this week.

On Thursday, RB Leipzig held Zenit St. Petersburg to a 1-1 draw in Russia, advancing to the next round on a 3-2 aggregate.
The 2017-18 season has been their first in European competition. Though they started the campaign in the Champions League Group G, their third place finish in the group dropped them to the Europa League.

Later that day, Red Bull Salzburg shut out Borussia Dortmund in a 0-0 draw at Red Bull Arena, advancing on on a 2-1 aggregate.
For Salzburg, it marks the deepest they’ve gone in any European competition since they made it to the 1993-94 UEFA Cup Finals in a losing effort against Inter Milan - back when they were known as “SV Austria Salzburg.”
