Something magical is happening in Madison, NJ, but at the same time the magic traveled with them to the Sports Complex of Columbia University as the former Red Bulls academy defender Sacir Hot is willing his FC Motown side into a run like no one has ever seen.

It started off with a destruction of fellow New Jersey side FC Monmouth as the club won their first playoff match on July 11th by a final of four goals to one. Then another home match on the campus of Drew University and after a one all draw thru regulation and extra time, FC Motown took out West Chester United in penalties 4-2 on July 14th.

You would think a Maryland based club would find a way to knock off FC Motown, but not so as the home side again on July 18th took out their next opponents and a three goal clean sheet pushed them into the North East Regional final against the NY Cosmos B.

Another former Red Bull defender was managing the side playing on the stadium named after their owner Rocco Commisso. Carlos Mendes and Hot were going to face each other inside their own technical areas.

But while the final score looked close, the match wasn’t. All the goals were scored in the second half as Walter Calderon in the 53rd minute, Christopher Katona in the 61st minute and Dilly Duka in the 77th minute took out Cosmos B before a brace inside second half stoppage time by Ivan Berterame was the last gasp for the home team.

Sacir Hot right now looks to be a possible head coaching candidate for a future MLS Side who would probably join as an assistant coach or maybe the next USL head coach that is own by an MLS Side.

He has won the 2018 NPSL North East Regional championship and it’s on to the National Semi-Finals and their next opponents will be either Miami FC 2 or Little Rock Rangers. But so far for FC Motown, they are putting themselves on the map and in a good way.
