When you see Tyler Adams playing for our country and turning into a monster on the pitch both on offense and defense, you know that there is something special with this kid as the Wappinger Falls, New York native continues to show his uprise on the club level and now the International level.
His big contribution to the US Men’s National Team was scoring the only goal of the match against a Mexico side that is also looking to find some future players for the next World Cup Qualifying cycle.
But in the 71st minute and up a man due to the antics of Matt Miazga that lead the Mexican National Team to blow a gasket and while the tackle was accidental, it was the right call and the correct card from the referee.
Antonee Robinson attacked down the far side of the field and laid a beautiful cross into an area, while the defenders were leaving the ball alone, Adams came down the field on a 35yd run and smashed his chance inside the far post.
Welcome to the rivalry, @tyler_adams14.

We have seen Tyler Adams growing up right before our very eyes. An academy player, then the USL Side that won their first USL title back in 2016 with big time playoff matches against Orlando City B, the Rochester Rhinos, Louisville City and then hosting the final by destroying Swope Parke Rangers who are owned by Sporting Kansas City.
But his true ascension to fame and lore was that International Champions Cup as the majority of the side was from the USL and took on a then Chelsea side that was managed by Jose Mourinho and they were defending Premier League Champions in 2015.
Scoring that second goal and celebrating like did he just do that, was amazing as a seventeen year old. Then last year he was inserted into the starting eleven when the defense wasn’t looking good, he was a game changer and now he is showing why he is an important player for this club and now a member of the US Men’s National Team.
That goal to win the match against the USA’s most hated rival within CONCACAF has now put the icing on Adams cake as he has reached the pinnacle of a career that is already several matches in with the US Men’s National Team.
We all know that Tyler Adams will move to the German Bundesliga at Red Bull Leipzig once this MLS season comes to an end, he will be with familiar company as his former head coach Jesse Marsch will be an assistant.
Every time Adams steps on the pitch he is all about business and while it looks like interim head coach Dave Sarachan is putting Adams in an attacking role, it should change when Michael Bradley returns or does return to the national team as he should be in an attacking role and leave Tyler as the defensive midfielder as he is better as a box to box mid and can retreat back into a defensive position.
But once again Tyler Adams has earned a lot of success early and hopefully he can continue to ascend to greater things for the National Team and once he gets his feet wet with Leipzig, Very happy for him and great to see him convert his first USA goal.
